level one hostess thank you sneak peek

This is a sneak peek of a new level 1 hostess set coming out called - Because I Care. I created this easy card to say thank you to several people. It had to be quick and easy since I had to make several. I also needed to mail it, so I didn't add too much bulk on this card. I also stamped it on the note cards for ease of cutting. I really like the little note cards as they are just the right size for a quick note.

I've been trying this set with different mediums. This one uses markers. It's stamped with Stazon ink and then colored in with markers. I used the new color called Marina Mist (it's the darker blue color and the scalloped oval). The lighter color is Bashful and the greens are celery and olive.
The ribbon is olive. I used the large oval and the scallop oval punches with the saying. It was pretty quick actually. The longest time was shading the flower, but with the marker it went pretty quick. Every now and then I just like clean and simple (CAS) cards.
So I challenge you to come up with an easy idea to encourage someone you know. Hope it inspires you to do something like that too. Have a great day.

presto prom page

A friend of mine's daughter got to go to prom this year with her boyfriend for the first time. I decided to make her a page for some of her pictures. It's really hard to tell by these pictures, but this is super sparkly and really is neat in person. Her prom dress had purplish blue stripes on it. So I took one of our presto pattern papers and inked with navy and lilac. I then spritzed the paper with vanilla smooch spritz and made the whole thing glimmer. Her shoes and his tux cumberbund was silver so I added silver paper mats. I then punched out some flowers using the Big shot and drew lines on them and smooched them too. I inked the edges and put together with a silver brad. I punched the word prom out of my Big shot as well and added more smooch. Basically everything on this sparkles, even the mats.

I tried to get some close up shots to see the glimmer, but couldn't get it to pick up well. I would try again, but I don't have the page anymore.

So I hope this gives you an idea of a way to use these papers. I have had questions on how to use them and this is one way you can use them. You can also cut them up and just color parts and use on cards or as accents and such.
Hope this helps. Have a great day today.

tropical sign for my daughter

My daughter was sticking papers to her door to tell people messages, so I made her this little sign for her door. Now there isn't as much hanging there as she can write different messages on here depending on what she wants to say (the black part is chalkboard). Of course it didn't get rid of them all as she has lots to say, especially to her brother, but it did get rid of some. :)

It's uses the 5x7 on board boards that are retiring this month. I covered it with the island Oasis paper and rounded the corners. I then used my top note die to cut out a chalkboard decor element. I then used the tropical party stamp set to stamp some flowers. I cut them out and raised some up on dimensionals. I used my Big shot to punch out her name and my cropodile to punch holes for the hangers.
The ribbons look different at the top because I intertwined them together so when it hangs they wind around each other. It just doesn't lay flat well without hanging, so that's why they look bunched up. I also took a piece of chalk and added some cardstock at the bottom and tied ribbon around it that way they don't get chalk all over their hands and ultimately over their clothes. It was a fun rainy day project to make and I think would make a fun kid's camp project too.
So I hope you enjoy the share today. As always if you have questions, just ask.

masculine thank you

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted. Sorry about that . Things got somewhat crazy around here with end of school stuff, church stuff and just life in general. I've started leading a weekly bible study time again and that has taken more time then I have expected along with everything else.
I'll try and get some more pictures uploaded for you. I've also been doing some creating too, but haven't been able to upload yet. My chip to upload my pictures has mysteriously disappeared, so I've had to see about getting a new one. This one is different style though, so I'm sure it has a learning curve. :)

Besides making some various cards like this one. I've also put together another album idea, some club ideas and created a few scrap pages. So lots of stuff to show, once I get it off my camera. :)
This card of course uses the lovely as a tree set which didn't retire this time. I absolutely love this set. It has so many uses - masculine, nature, Christmas, different seasons, etc. It's just really versatile in my opinion. So anyways I needed a masculine thank you card and this is what I came up with. The tree is colored in with markers - Chocolate chip and always artichoke. I used those papers as well as white. I stamped the phrase using the Teeny Tiny Wishes set with the Word Window and Modern label punches. It also has chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon in the background which is retiring by the way. The background white is stamped with the Sanded set using some Soft Suede and Chocolate chip and inked around the edges with the same ones.

This card is a little different as I decided to decorate the inside too. Since I used a darker cardstock base I added some white paper. I thought it looked too plain so I added another tree and the Thank you saying from the Thank you kindly stamp set.
So I hope you enjoy my share. Sorry it took me so long to post. Hopefully I'll do better once I get this camera thing figured out.

element of style meets razzleberry

Element of style has to be one of my new favorite stamp sets. I love how it's beautiful colored in as well as just used as a backing. For this card I colored it in. I watercolored it using Rich Razzleberry and Elegant eggplant and certainly Celery and Old olive for the leaves. The saying is stamped and punched out with the circle punch and back with two circle mats also punched out. I thought adding the polka dot ribbon gave it a fun flair too. It's hard to tell the details on this card, but several of the flower petals and leaves are actually cut out and raised up off the card. I tried to take a pic slightly from the side to give you another view but it's still a little hard to see just how much is cut out. I just thought it added a little pop seeing curved edges.
I made this card for my sister for her birthday. I know I'm late posting it. She really likes the polka dotted ribbon too as it's one of her favorites. So I added that for her.
I believe she liked it anyways.
So I hope you enjoy my share today. Have an awesome day today.

baby bib card

Not too long ago, a friend of mine had a baby shower. I saw this cute idea and thought I would try it too. I don't know who originated it, but I think it's pretty fun. This little bib card is made with the scallop circle Big shot die and the circle die. I used a circle punch to punch out the top part. It's a little hard to see, but it's a pretty in pink card. I stamped the baby from All in the family with stazon and colored it in with markers (pink and blush). The blush marker isn't retiring by the way. I then stamped the saying in pink as well and then added a pink ribbon. The scallops are attached at the top so the card opens upward to the inside, which says Congratulations in black. I used the set from the Well scripted set that was in the last mini, since that was still available at the time. I think it's pretty cool the way it worked out. I love cute different cards. You can do this with any die really. Just place the fold of the paper where it doesn't come all the way to one edge, so it ends up flat on that side like a fold. The cool thing with this one is that the way this card works this edge is almost hidden. If you don't like the flat edge in the front though, you can always cut two of them and fold the inside one just under the top edge and adhere it to the front to allow the card to open. So that's an option too.
I'm hoping tomorrow that I get some time to play a little. I got my new preview catalog today along with some preview items that we demos are allowed to pre-order. I was excited. Almost stalking the poor UPS person waiting for them to arrive so I wouldn't miss the delivery and have to wait until Monday. If I do get to play I'll have to post an entry in the next day or so. So much fun. It's like looking through a Christmas toy catalog when I was younger. I'd say I want that and that, etc. It's the same only with scrapping/stamping toys. :)
So I hope you enjoy my share. It was fun to try.
Have a great day.

baby shower bag

This is a bag that I gave for a baby shower gift. They are having a girl and they are using butterflies in their decorating, so I thought this a fun decoration for the bag.
It's just a plain white bag. I added a piece of Melon Mambo paper and then used my butterfly die to cut out two more butterflies using celery and pretty in pink paper. I then stamped a butterfly image from the Great Friend set in melon mamba and cut it out. It's attached with a dimensional to help it pop out. I used my bone folder to curve some of the wings so they would have dimension. I also added a melon mambo polka dot ribbon bow to the bag too. I thought it turned out kind of fun and cute.
Hope you have a great day and enjoy my share.
