roses

I'm having a lot of fun making flowers. These little flowers are made with our new flower punch. It takes 3 flowers punched to make these little flowers. I punched 3 sets one in Pretty in Pink, one in Barely Banana and one in Almost Amethyst. I inked the edges and then I cut and folded the sets to make these pretty flowers. They are pretty sturdy too, not like others I've seen. You could put Crystal effects on them too to make them really stiff or just put a touch on them to make rain drops. Lots of fun. You could put this on a card if you aren't going to mail them. They would go well on boxes, pins, frames, etc. I think these might be pretty on stems too and in a vase. Lots of choices.
I learned how to make these from demo Julie Williams. It was great of her to share as these are so pretty and not very hard to make.

So I hope you enjoy the little flowers. Hope you have a great day today.

Breast cancer SAS

This weekend I'm holding a SAS and I'm donating part of the proceeds to Breast Cancer Research. If anyone needs some scrapbooking or stamping supplies, then feel free to let me know. I'm donating 10% of all sales between now and 5:00pm Sunday for that cause. I'm also donating a portion of each packet that was signed up for as well.

It seems like nowadays almost all of us know someone affected by cancer of some sort. I thought every little bit helps, so it's my way of doing a small part.

It's also Sale-a-bration time and a great time to get supplies. For every $50 in product sold you can either pick an exclusive item from the SAB catalog or pick out a small set from the main catalog (see list in the back of the SAB brochure for qualifying sets). It's basically a $15.95 or under set for free. A great deal. So if you need anything between now and then let me know. Thanks

Birthday sab card

I needed a birthday card and I decided to use a slightly different color combo for me. This picture doesn't do it justice, but I gave it away already and can't get a better picture. It's very bright and fun in person. It uses Yo Yo Yellow, Whisper white and Bashful blue as the main colors. The images are from two Sale-a-bration sets - Happy Moments and Whimsical Words. The cake is stamped in black and then I used a blender pen to color in the flowers with bashful (centers yo yo) and the candle flames are also Yo Yo. The words are also colored with the two colors using the markers. On the right edge I used the new Pinking hearts border punch and then added a piece of bashful to the back of the card to help the border stand out. The bashful in the back is also distressed with bashful ink. I didn't think of it at the time, but a little glitter on the candles would have been fun too.
So I hope you enjoy my little card today. Hope you are getting some creating time in. Have a great day. Blessings.

charming window

This card is similar to the monkey card I posted a few posts back. The main difference was the colors and stamp set used.
For this card I used the stamp set Charming, which was in the last mini catalog. SU just issued a statement yesterday listing several items from the last mini that are still available and will be included in the new catalog. This stamp set is one of them. You can also still get the Big Shot items, the ornament punch and all the Shimmer paints as well, which is very exciting. I've not seen them do that before, but it's great that they are still available as several of those items were my favorite.
So back to this card. It's made just like the monkey card. I used a mask and sponged on my circle onto the whisper white cardstock. I then inked up my stamp set with real red and old olive markers and then stamped (had to do that 3 times). I stamped the sentiment in black and then added the red satin ribbon, which is awesome. I love the satin ribbon. One tip about the satin ribbon though - don't use liquid type glue or glue dots with it on the front of the card unless covering it up. It will bleed through and you will be able to see it. So that's a little tip for the day - don't ask me how I know. lol. j/k Of course I found that out. So I hope you guys have a great day. The sun is shining! That helps a lot. Definitely a gift from God.
Blessings.

felt circle flower

It seems like I've been on a flower kick lately. I've been making them out of fabric and paper. I've been trying various punches, dies, etc to see what I can make. Now I need to figure out what I want to do with them all. :) I also need to take some more pictures. Here is another one that is made out of felt. It could be used on a card/scrap page or it could also be added to anything fabric - headband/barrette, purse or bag, made into a pin, etc. This little flower is made out of pink felt and I used the circle #2 Big Shot die. The shape I got was by accident. I inked my edges with craft ink and wanted to speed up drying, so I used my heat gun. The kids started talking to me and before I realized it I had held it in one place too long and it curled up and it got that cool crinkled look, so I did it to the rest of them and this is how it turned out. Pretty cool I think. I used a Chocolate brad for the center and it was done. Really quick, easy and fun.
I guess I'm hoping that spring gets here sooner then later. Hope you have a great day. Blessings.

fabric and Big Shot - sunflower

Since we had a snow day, I decided to play around with some items. I dug out some felt I had laying around and decided to make some flowers. Of course my kids had to help too. I'll have to post more tomorrow of the various color combos they chose. This was just one of the ones we made. You could put this on a bag, a headband, barrette, which we are talking about doing for my daughter, or even a blanket, or even make it a pin. It has lots of options being material. It's also very bright and colorful which is great on this snow covered day. This is just basic yellow felt cut out with the Daisy die. I then just inserted a Chocolate chip corduroy button in the middle which holds it all together. Very fun and easy and definitely cheerful. Now if we could get the snow to melt so I could get more fabrics to try that would be good.
Anyways, I hope you have a warmer day tomorrow. Stay safe everyone. Blessings

valentine suckers

Here is an item the kids helped me make for their teachers. I meant to post these before Valentines day, but have been really busy putting together various class ideas and classes I have coming up.
This uses the Love you much stamp set and the 2 tags Big Shot die.
I just added an extra score line so it would fold well around the sucker, threaded the sucker through the hole and tied with a ribbon after punching holes with the cropodile. The design is colored with markers and punched out with the scallop circle punch and lifted up with dimensionals. I know it's too late for Valentines, but anything that fits on the scallop circle punch is fair game. You could make St. Patrick's day, birthday party, etc. So even though the holiday is over, I still wanted to share for the idea.
I hope you are staying warm with all this snow.
Blessings.

picnic parade

Picnic Parade is a level 2 hostess set in the new mini. I couldn't resist it with the cute animals and creatures. You know how much my kids love both, so I had to get it when I could. Sorry the picture isn't the best. It looks a lot duller here then in real life. The saying says "Have a happy day every step of the way!. " I thought that it was a great saying. We've been talking about that theme some in our bible studies somewhat. We've talked about making the best of our circumstances. "Considering it pure joy when we face trials of many kind" (James 1:2). Several are facing some tough times and it's really cool to watch God work in their lives.
I thought this card and saying went well with that thought and especially the saying.
It's a lighthearted card and I hope it cheers up your day.
I stamped the scene and colored it in with a blender pen. The saying is raised up on dimensionals and the sky is colored with pastels - bashful blue to be exact, which is hard to see here.
So I hope you enjoy the card and that you choose to have a happy day today.
Blessings.

heart tree

Look, isn't this fun? Karen Burniston shared this idea with demos. It's made with the tree die and the Big Shot. You can put it in a card, but I completed mine on all sides and it makes it pretty sturdy that way, so I like mine just as a little decoration. It also took a lot of time, but I thought it a cool idea and had to share.
It looks like the tree die is still available online as well as several other items from last month's mini (including shimmer paints, Charming stamp set, other dies and also raw vinyl which was on sale near the end.)

I thought about adding stuff to this like more hearts for decoration, shimmer paint, etc. I think I like it like this for now. I may add more later, but I think it's cool plain and will leave it like that for a bit. Kind of admire my work kind of thing. I think because it took so long to complete. I think I worked more on this then I have most of the items I've made. It turned out pretty cool in my opinion though.

The base of the tree is made from the tree die. Then I punched various hearts with the full heart and the three heart punch. I used real red, pretty in pink and regal rose as my colors.

So I hope you enjoy my heart tree. Special thanks to Karen Burniston for sharing such a fun idea. Have a great day and stay warm. It's already snowing here and the streets look covered, so I hope everyone stays safe driving tomorrow. Prayers and Blessings.

fox & friends hello there

I saw an idea similar to this made by another demo and had to try it. I did add some ribbon to the card as I love the look of our new Satin ribbon. So I put my saying up in my circle and then added the ribbon. If you look really close you can see the faint blue area (like a sky) that's formed in a circle. I used my circle scissors and cut a mask, then shaded it in with bashful blue. The stem is from Great Friend and the saying from Cheep talk. The little monkey is from Fox and Friends from the mini. I used markers to color it all, except the sky, which was just a sponged bashful blue. I thought it a cute simple card. I'm glad the demo shared the idea. I can't remember her name unfortunately. I so need to get better at documenting. It's just that with the new demonstrator website that SU opened up there are thousands of samples out there now and every day many more are added. I scan through them at one time and then I remember later to try things. So I never am quite sure at the time what my ADD brain will remember and I never know to write things down. I just happened to remember one similar to this one. So it's not my idea. I just slightly modified it. If I find it again in my searches, I'll post that information.
So I hope you enjoy the little Hello There card and it brings a smile to your face. I can picture a little monkey swinging down from a tree making monkey noises, kinda of like he's saying, "Well, hello there". Just thought it a fun card. Have a great day today and stay warm.

Easter card already

I was playing with some of my new stuff the other day and came up with this card. I thought it turned out pretty cute. It uses several new items.
It uses the little kiss notes from the mini. It also uses the new corner punch. It also uses the saying from Well Scripted. I also used In Colors for my color palette. It was a fun little card and I think that little chick is adorable. It's from a level 1 hostess set called Country morning.
Both the "kiss" and the saying are raised up on dimensionals. The ribbon is the Soft Suede polka dotted ribbon and the other color is Crushed Curry.

I thought it a fun secular card for Easter. Of course the real meaning of Easter is about the resurrection of Christ. I'll have to create some more cards again that reflect that better, but thought you'd like this card in the mean time. It sort of reminds me of it a little - as this is a new life being born and when we accept Christ, we too are "born again." It's a little bit of a stretch, but I like pulling things together.

So yeah it's a little early to think about Easter, but it might take time to gather all the parts needed.

Sorry I haven't posted as much I haven't been feeling as well and it has made me very tired. Hopefully I will get back into the swing of it all again soon. Hope you have a great day today and are able to stay warm with all the snow coming. Blessings.
